MULCH & FLOWER BED WEED CONTROL
MINIMIZE AND CONTROL WEEDS
MULCH & FLOWER BED WEED CONTROL
Designed to minimize weeds in your landscapes mulch and flower beds, greatly reducing the need for the back-breaking chore of weeding.
Our specialist applies both pre and post emergent herbicides to prevent weed seeds from germinating as well as controls for tough to control weeds (like thistle and tree seedlings) and those seeds that broke through the preventive barrier. We do not guanantee 100% control of weeds, it just isn’t possible. With treatments and good cultural practices, proper mulching, watering and light weeding you’ll get the most out of this service.
TYPICAL APPLICATION SCHEDULE
EARLY SPRING PRE-EMERGENT APPLICATION
The initial treatment we’ll apply a granular or liquid weed preventer, this forms a barrier on the soil surface to prevent up to 95% of weed seeds from germinating. This application WILL NOT control established or perennial weeds.
LATE SPRING POST-EMERGENT APPLICATION
By this time any weeds that were established prior to our initial treatment, off label and hard to control weeds and grasses are flourishing, our technician will spot treat these weeds and grasses with post emergent controls, again reducing the weeds in your gardens. Weeds growing through or very near desirable plants cannot be treated and should be pulled to prevent damage to your plants.
SUMMER PRE-EMERGENT APPLICATION
Similar to the early Spring treatment, but targeting cool season Fall and Winter annuals and perennials, such as annual bluegrass, chickweed, speedwell, and other weeds that germinated in late Fall and early Winter.
FALL POST-EMERGENT APPLICATION
Targets remaining weeds and tough to control weeds with Post-emergent spot treatment. Weeds growing through or very near desirable plants cannot be treated and should be pulled to prevent damage to your plants.
OUR HORTICULTURIST’S METHOD OF WEEDING
I enjoy my yard and gardens by relaxing each day after work for 10-20 minutes. I inspect plants look at their growth, health and flowering. All while doing a bit of weeding. I pull a few weeds each day and they do not have a chance to set seed or get out of control. It’s very therapeutic! Take a few minutes each day after work to enjoy your yard, get some fresh air and pull a few weeds. You’ll feel better and weeding becomes a way to relax, not a chore! I look forward to my “Yard time”.
